After graduating from SVSU in May, Sarah Klammer began to patiently wait for her diploma to arrive in the mail.
The only issue was that when it arrived it was the wrong one.
Klammer was supposed to receive a Bachelor of Arts diploma for her economics major. However, what she was given was a Bachelor of Science diploma.
As far as her first thoughts after seeing the mistake, Klammer said she laughed it off.
“I told my dad he finally had a scientist for a daughter,” she said. “I’m honestly not even mad. I just think it’s hilarious.”
After four years of college, including time at Delta College and Saginaw Valley, Klammer graduated at just the age of 19. She officially graduated from SVSU around the same time she graduated from high school. She was able to do this through a program called PACE (Paris Academy of Co-secondary Education).
As impressive as all of that may be, she said that getting the wrong degree allows her to joke with friends about her multiple diplomas.
“Everyone already acts like I have a million degrees or something, so this will just add to the legend,” she said.
The former Cardinal is now a Spartan, attending Michigan State University to study agricultural, food and resource economics. She said she plans on either finishing the graduate program or switching to the PhD program.
