Suspicious Situation
At 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, officers received a report regarding a 50-year-old male non-student on campus with a puppy. The man was allegedly walking the puppy outside around the buildings and asking female students to watch it while he went inside. After numerous calls, officers were able to locate the subject. They asked him to leave. Officers later discovered that the subject had a letter of trespass from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Verbal Dispute
At 5:13 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, two 18-year-old female residents in the First Year Suites entered another student’s room without knocking. This student became upset and then went into the females’ room to confront them. This case has been turned over to Student Code of Conduct for resolution.
Minor in Possession
At 12:24 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, police were dispatched to the First Year Suites for a regarding underage drinking at a social gathering. Six residents were present at the gathering and all had been drinking. One student was issued a minor in possession charge; the other students were given notices to appear.
At 10:23 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, police were dispatched to the First Year Suites to meet with Residential Life staff regarding a loud noise complaint and alleged underage drinking. One student was issued a minor in possession charge.
At 10:32 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, police were called to University Village by Residential Life staff regarding a loud noise complaint and underage drinking at a social gathering. Seven people were present at the gathering. Two students and two non-students were issued minor in possession charges.
Property Damage
At 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, a 16-year-old female student reported she struck the driver’s side of a 17-year-old student’s vehicle in G-Lot, causing minor damage.
Miscellaneous
At 2:14 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, a student overloaded a washing machine in the University Village laundry room, causing the machine to overflow onto electrical wires, which produced smoke.
At 5:52 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, the mother of a 19-year-old student contacted University Police and asked officers to find her daughter who might have been living on campus. Once the student was located, she explained that she was preparing to move into University Village due to problems at home. This case has been turned over to Student Code of Conduct for resolution.
