Microplastics are now detected almost everywhere scientists look — from the highest mountain peaks to the deepest ocean trenches. The idea grew out of environmental science coursework and field observations in rural communities, where the students noted how water is often stored collectively without reliable filtration. With backing from The Earth Prize, they plan to build decentralized production hubs to manufacture and distribute Plas-Stick across India.
